Subaru Resumes Plant Operations in Japan after Typhoon

Tokyo, Oct. 25 (Jiji Press)--Subaru Corp. <7270> said Friday it has resumed operations at its sole vehicle assembly plant in Japan after a suspension caused by Typhoon Hagibis.

The plant in Ota, Gunma Prefecture, eastern Japan, had halted operations since Oct. 16 after floodwater damaged parts suppliers.

The production of about 10,000 four-wheel vehicles was delayed and the automaker is examining the impact of the suspension on its earnings.

Subaru shortened operating hours at the plant to secure safety for the workers on Oct. 12, when the typhoon landed in Japan, and returned to normal operations on Oct. 14 before the suspension.
