N. Korea Reacts Harshly to Disclosed Fishing Boat Collision Video

Seoul, Oct. 28 (Jiji Press)--North Korea criticized on Monday a video footage disclosed by the Japanese government that showed a North Korean fishing boat collided with a Japanese patrol ship and sank in the Sea of Japan earlier this month.

The footage was intentionally edited to mask the truth, state-run Korean Central News Agency said in an editorial.

Claiming that Tokyo committed the savage act on purpose under its hostile policy against North Korea, the article said Japan should compensate and take preventive measures.

The collision occurred on Oct. 7 in Japan's exclusive economic zone off the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. The Japanese government released on Oct. 18 the video footage to strengthen its claim that the patrol operation was conducted appropriately.
