Sojitz Invests in AI-Related U.S. Healthcare Startup

Tokyo, Nov. 6 (Jiji Press)--Japanese trading house Sojitz Corp. <2768> has invested in Sense.ly Corp., a U.S. healthcare startup that offers an artificial intelligence-based diagnostic app.

The investment was made through a corporate venture capital fund set up by Sojitz in the United States, according to Sojitz's announcement on Tuesday. The amount of the investment has not been disclosed.

The app developed by Sense.ly uses AI to provide users with medical information, including possible disease names, based on medical case data and diagnostic information collected by a renowned U.S. hospital.

Sojitz hopes to utilize the U.S. startup's technologies in an overseas hospital project undertaken by the Japanese trader.
