Tokyo, Nov. 6 (Jiji Press)--Water supplies were cut off at two terminal buildings of Tokyo International Airport at Haneda on Wednesday morning, forcing restaurants there to suspend operations.

The terminal 1 and 2 buildings are mainly used by domestic flight passengers. The water supply to the terminal 1 building has been restored, according to the airport's website.

Japan Airport Terminal Co. <9706> is investigating the cause of the water failure. The outage also made it unable to wash hands at restrooms in the buildings, according to the company. No water failure happened at the airport's international terminal building.

Water supplies to the terminal 1 and 2 buildings were suspended after a rise in salt concentrations was discovered around 9 a.m. Wednesday (midnight Tuesday GMT), a water supply facility management company said.

The water outage had no influence on takeoffs or landings at the airport, according to ANA Holdings Inc.'s <9202> All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines <9201>.
