Softbank Group Dives into Operating Loss

Tokyo, Nov. 6 (Jiji Press)--Japan's Softbank Group Corp. <9984> on Wednesday reported a consolidated operating loss of 15,552 million yen for April-September, down from a profit of 1,420,716 million yen a year before.

The loss was attributed to falls in the valuations of Softbank Group's shareholdings in such companies as The We Company, which runs the WeWork office-sharing business, and U.S. ride-sharing company Uber Technologies Inc.

Net profit fell 49.8 pct to 421,552 million yen, while revenues were almost unchanged at 4,651,724 million yen.
