Honda N-Box Tops Japan's New Car Sales for 26th Month

Tokyo, Nov. 7 (Jiji Press)--Honda Motor Co.'s <7267> N-Box minivehicle topped the new car sales rankings in Japan for the 26th consecutive month in October, industry data showed Thursday.

N-Box sales declined 23.1 pct from a year before to 15,768 units, according to the data from the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Light Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Association.

Minivehicles with engine displacements of up to 660 cc grabbed six slots in the top 10 list.

Among them, Suzuki Motor Corp.'s <7269> Spacia ranked second, with sales of 12,433 units, up 5.2 pct. Daihatsu Motor Co.'s Tanto came fourth, with 11,071 units, down 4.2 pct.

Toyota Motor Corp.'s <7203> flagship Corolla sedan ranked third as its sales climbed 29.5 pct to 11,190 units after it was remodeled.
