Fujitsu to Double Mid-Career Hires

Economy

Tokyo, Nov. 11 (Jiji Press)--Fujitsu Ltd. <6702> said Monday it will double the number of its mid-career hires to 300 from the initially planned 150 for fiscal 2019, which ends in March.

The Japanese electronics company previously focused its mid-career hires on people with work experience in the technology sector. But it now plans to hire workers without reference to their tech experience.

Fujitsu plans to train these mid-career workers in their 20s and 30s to have them lead its digital transformation operations, which support clients' business renovation utilizing digital technologies.

The company has already hired about 100 of the planned 300 mid-career workers. It plans to recruit 750 new graduates in spring next year.
