Aomori, Nov. 13 (Jiji Press)--Police arrested a 14-year-old male junior high school student on Tuesday for allegedly slashing the neck of a girl in an upper grade of elementary school on a street in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan, earlier in the day.
The boy has admitted to the charges, saying that he intended to kill the girl, according to investigative sources.
With the girl seen to be not acquainted with the suspect, the Aomori prefectural police are investigating the motive behind his action.
The 14-year-old is suspected of slashing the girl in the front of her neck at around 4:40 p.m. (7:40 a.m. GMT) on Tuesday.
