Singapore, Nov. 19 (Jiji Press)--Major taxi-hailing app operator JapanTaxi Co. has said it is starting soon a service allowing visitors from Southeast Asia to book taxi rides in Japan via the ride-hailing app of Singapore's Grab Holdings Inc.

Under the service, Grab app users from Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines will be able to hail taxis in the five areas of Tokyo, Kyoto Prefecture, Okinawa Prefecture, Sapporo in Hokkaido and Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture.

JapanTaxi has 13,620 affiliated cabs available for the service in the five areas, according to its announcement Monday.

Grab app users will not need to give instructions on their destinations or pay fares to the drivers because both can be done through the app.

The service is also designed to reduce drivers' tasks, according to JapanTaxi.
