ANA, JAL to Increase Haneda Flights Bound for U.S., Europe
Tokyo, Nov. 19 (Jiji Press)--All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines <9201> said Tuesday they will increase the number of flights mainly between Tokyo International Airport at Haneda and destinations in the United States and Europe, starting next March.
Their moves will come in response to increased slots for international flights at Haneda airport.
The major Japanese airline operators aim at attracting more visitors from the United States, Europe and elsewhere by taking advantage of the airport, which is close to the center of the Japanese capital and is also convenient for connecting to domestic flights.
ANA will shift flights bound for Washington and three other U.S. cities to Haneda from Narita International Airport in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. It will also launch new flights connecting Haneda with Milan, Stockholm and some other cities.
JAL will move five U.S.-Japan flights to Haneda from Narita, including one to and from Hawaii, and also start flying to Los Angeles and Helsinki.
