S. Korea Tells Japan of Intention Not to End GSOMIA

Tokyo, Nov. 22 (Jiji Press)--The South Korean government has informed the Japanese government that it will not end its military information-sharing pact with Japan, a senior official of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party said Friday.

The South Korean government is slated to make an announcement shortly on the bilateral agreement, the General Security of Military Information Agreement, or GSOMIA, which it decided in August to let expire at midnight Friday (3 p.m. GMT).
