Osaka, Nov. 23 (Jiji Press)--Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Saturday on suspicion of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl in Osaka, western Japan, who had been missing since Sunday.

The girl was taken into police custody in Oyama, Tochigi Prefecture, eastern Japan, Osaka prefectural police said.

The man, Hitoshi Ito, a resident of Oyama, has told police investigators that he did not intend to kidnap her, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

At his home, a 15-year-old girl was also found and taken into police custody.

Ito became acquainted with the 12-year-old girl via social media around Nov. 10, the sources said. On Sunday morning, he invited her out to a park in Osaka and took her away to his home, the sources said.
