Japan to Compile 25-T.-Yen Economic Package
Tokyo, Dec. 3 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government is expected to compile an economic package worth 25 trillion yen, including around 13 trillion yen in fiscal spending, sources familiar with the matter said Tuesday.
The government is likely to adopt the package as early as Thursday, the sources said.
The package "will likely be worth some 25 trillion yen," Fumio Kishida, policy chief of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, told reporters.
Related costs will be booked under a fiscal 2019 supplementary budget and a fiscal 2020 full budget, the sources said.
The fiscal spending will include more than 3.5 trillion yen from the government's fiscal investment and loan program, the sources said.
