NTT, Microsoft Tie Up on Corporate Digital Services

Tokyo, Dec. 11 (Jiji Press)--Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. <9432> said Tuesday it has formed a strategic alliance with Microsoft Corp. to develop next-generation digital services for corporate customers.

The partnership is designed to deliver secure and reliable solutions that help corporate customers worldwide accelerate digital transformation, the Japanese telecommunications company said.

Jun Sawada, NTT's president and chief executive officer, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella reached an agreement on the alliance during a meeting at the U.S. technology giant's headquarters in Redmond, Washington, on Tuesday, according to the Japanese company.

The alliance will bring together NTT's information and communication technology infrastructure and Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, the Japanese company said.

The two companies will also work together in developing next-generation communication platforms, NTT said.
