67 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed in Tokyo

Tokyo, July 1 (Jiji Press)--Sixty-seven coronavirus infections were newly confirmed in Tokyo on Wednesday, the metropolitan government said.
The daily count in the capital topped 50 for the sixth straight day and hit the highest level since the Japanese government ended the national state of emergency over the pandemic on May 25.
According to the metropolitan government, 49, or around 70 pct, of the newly identified virus carriers were in their 20s and 30s.
It also said 27 people were infected at establishments in nightlife districts including hostess bars and host clubs.
The overall coronavirus cases in the country went up 126.
