102 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed in Tokyo

Tokyo, July 6 (Jiji Press)--The number of novel coronavirus infection cases confirmed in Tokyo on Monday stood at 102, with the daily count topping 100 for the fifth consecutive day.
Of Monday's total, 35 were related to nightlife districts, including establishments offering hospitality services. Eleven people are seen to have been infected during work or while having meals with others. Infection routes are unknown for 42 cases.
People in their 20s and 30s accounted for some 70 pct of the daily total. The cumulative number of infection cases in the Japanese capital reached 6,867.
In the southwestern Japan prefecture of Kagoshima, 12 people newly tested positive for the virus. The Kagoshima prefectural government on Monday asked eating and drinking establishments with hospitality services to suspend operations again, from Wednesday, following the discovery of a group infection at an entertainment pub in the prefecture.
Elsewhere in the country, 16 new infection cases were confirmed in Saitama Prefecture, 11 in Kanagawa Prefecture and nine in Chiba Prefecture. The three prefectures are adjacent to Tokyo.
