Yamada Hisashi

Professor of economics, Hōsei University, and visiting researcher, Japan Research Institute. Specializes in macroeconomic analysis, economic policy, and labor economics. Earned his PhD in economics from Kyoto University and began working for Sumitomo Bank (now Sumitomo Mitsui Bank) in 1987. In 1998, joined the Japan Research Institute, where he served as chief economist and president. Assumed his current post in 2023.
