Sakaiya Shirō

Professor at the University of Tokyo. Specializes in Japanese politics and political processes. Born in Osaka in 1978. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, earned his PhD in law from the same institution. Was an associate professor at the University of Tokyo’s Institute of Social Science and a professor at Tokyo Metropolitan University before taking his current position in 2020. His publications include Kenpō to yoron (Constitution and Public Opinion) and Sengo Nihon seiji shi (A Political History of Postwar Japan).
