Sophie Richard

Art historian and writer based in London. Born in Provence, France. Educated at the Ecole du Louvre and the Sorbonne in Paris. Her latest book, The Art Lover’s Guide to Japanese Museums, provides in-depth information on more than 110 notable museums and galleries. This is an updated and augmented edition of her first book, for which she received the Commissioner’s Award from Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2015. Recently cofounded an art consulting firm, Richard and Tezen LLC, to help small private museums in Japan become more accessible to Western visitors, among other missions.
