Hirota Tomoyoshi

Professor of agricultural sciences at Kyūshū University, where he specializes in agricultural climate issues. After earning his own graduate degree in agricultural studies from the same university in 1991, spent some 30 years researching climate change impact on farming and countermeasures at the Hokkaidō Agricultural Research Center. Took up his present position in 2020; in 2023 was a joint recipient of the Commendation for Science and Technology in the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology Awards for Science and Technology.
