Yukitomo Wataru

Former newspaper journalist. Born in Hakodate, Hokkaidō. Joined the Mainichi Newspapers in 1985. Worked at the Fukushima Bureau and the economic department before serving as a senior writer specializing in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries from 2008. After early retirement, served as a research fellow at the Nōrinchūkin Research Institute. Moved to Iitate, Fukushima Prefecture, in October 2024.
