Koshino Junko

Fashion designer. Born in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture. Won the prestigious Sōen Prize for new designers while still a student at the Bunka Fashion College. Based in Tokyo, since 1978 she has held shows around the world, including in Beijing, New York, Vietnam, and Poland. Her international awards include the Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana (2006) and the Mont Blanc International Culture Prize in 2009. In 2017 she was made as a Person of Cultural Merit by the Japanese government, and she received France’s highest honor in 2021 when she was appointed Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur. Her work includes interior design as well as costume designs for opera and Broadway and sports uniforms.
