Inoi Takashi

Photographer. Head of photography company Mashima Railway Pictures. Born in Kanagawa in 1947. Began his career in the days of the state-owned Japanese National Railways, the predecessor of Japan Railways Group. Is known for his photographs of Japan’s rail vistas. Involved in creating advertising posters for JR services, including the popular Seishun 18 ticket. Chair of the Japan Railway Photographers Society, through which he has tutored many up-and-coming rail photographers. He continues to travel the country in search of scenic vantage points.
