Gregory Starr

Editor, writer, and translator now living on the Miura coast southeast of Tokyo. He was the editor-in-chief of the acclaimed “city magazine” Tokyo Journal, and the editor-in-chief of the Japanese edition of the film magazine Premiere, before heading the English-language editorial department of Kodansha International. Since leaving that publisher, he was the editor-in-chief of The No. 1 Shimbun, the monthly magazine of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan. He also works on Japan National Parks projects with the Environment Ministry, and contributes to All About Japan.
