Journalist. Joined Sankei Shimbun Co. in 2000; in 2004 he covered the Yomiuri Giants baseball team for the Yūkan Fuji evening paper, and the following year headed to the United States to cover Japanese slugger Matsui Hideki’s career in the Major Leagues. After returning to Japan wrote on economic topics and turned his love of rail travel into a railway column that ran for six years. After serving as head of the Sankei labor union board and assistant chief of media marketing, went independent in 2026. Author of Matsui Hideki wa mei kantoku ni nareru no ka? (Can Matsui Hideki Become a Great Baseball Manager?) and other works.
