Head of Dentsū’s Media Innovation Lab since 2011. After holding information technology and corporate planning roles at Dentsū, Kitahara joined the research and development division. His current role entails the study of media and communications, the provision of consulting services to media companies, consulting on company structures and personnel systems, and research on trends in advertising and related markets and industries. Chief compiler of Advertising Expenditures in Japan. Publications include the co-authored Jōhō inobētā kyōsō shakai no riidātachi (Information Innovators: Leaders in a Society of Co-Creation).
