• Yamamoto Tomoyuki

    Science journalist and reporter for the Asahi Shimbun. Born in Tokyo in 1966. After earning a master’s degree from Tokyo Gakugei University Graduate School, he joined the Asahi Shimbun in 1992. Has conducted underwater reporting in the Southern Ocean and around the Galápagos Islands, focusing on themes such as marine life and the global environment. Former deputy editor of the Science and Medical News Section and senior staff writer at the Asahi Gakusei Shimbun. Appointed bureau chief in Nemuro, Hokkaidō, in 2022. Works include Ondanka de Nihon no umi ni nani ga okoru no ka (What is Global Warming Doing to Japan’s Oceans?).
